ASNLite Overview

Aricent's ASNLite solution, a standards-based, compact, and off-the-shelf, integrated ASN Gateway, facilitates rapid development of WiMAX (802.16e) solutions. ASNLite is deployable on COTS-based Rack Mount Servers form factors (typically 1U and 2U) with full IP fast path implementation in software over standard Linux distributions. It is a feature-rich product supporting Authentication, Handover, Mobile IP, and all other Control Plane functionalities.

Benefits

Aricent's involvement with the WiMAX Forum ensures that its ASNLite solution is in accord with the latest advancements in the WiMAX technology, shielding its customers from added costs of technology upgrades.

Aricent's comprehensive and easy-to-use solution includes the IP Fast Path stack functionality for Radius, Dynamic Host Configuration (DHCP), and Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), and GRE Tunnel Management and mapping for uplink and downlink data transfer, as part of the ASNLite Gateway. In addition, the Aricent solution includes the WiMAX Radio-related control signaling for Authentication, Handover, Paging Location Update, and Fast Path control.

WiMAX being an emerging technology, few test tools and simulators currently exist for it. Aricent, as part of its ASNLite product portfolio, offers additional enablers, such as a BS signaling plane simulator for doing quick integration and end-to-end call scenario execution.

Aricent also provides product development, testing, and integration services, which facilitate deployment and integration of the ASNLite Gateway solution, with the Base Stations (BSs) and Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) servers, catering to customer requirements for interoperability.
