Why Service Creation Environment (SCE)

Aricent SCE: Serving Strategic Needs - Bridging Gaps

Next Generation IP and Wireless Networks were conceptualized and introduced in the market with promises to fulfill certain critical needs / gaps for Service Creation and delivery. Aricent has delivered the next generation promise for applications and services through its "Unique and Adaptable Service Creation Environment Product" based on Open API standards:

  • Creating enhanced applications and services: Aricent SCE enables OEMs, Application Platform Vendors, Applications Developers and potential Service Operators to fulfil the promise of delivering new and enhanced customer driven convergent applications and services. It provides capability to create next generation enhanced applications, services as well as Call related features for:

    • Wireline (IP): SoftSwitch, SIP Application Servers, Unified Application Servers and Media Servers
    • Wireless: Core Network Platforms (CSE, MSC, SAT Server, MeXe Server, WAP Server, GSN) Location & Messaging Platforms (SMSC, MMSC) and other Wireless Application Servers
    • PSTN: SCPs/IN Servers and PSTN Adjuncts

  • Applications for niche markets:Aricent SCE enables creation and delivery of applications and services at substantially reduced initial and operating costs. This allows targeting of applications to niche vertical market thereby meeting the need of defying the notion of "Killer Applications" (Synonymous with Mass Market Applications). Usage of SCE results in a combination of Absolute Savings and Soft Savings driven mainly by its capability to develop, features/applications and services faster and at lower costs, as well as to meet critical customer specific needs through its ease of customization.

  • Interoperability through open standards: The standalone Aricent SCE product meets the requirements of Open Interoperability standards such as Parlay, JAIN, OSA and others, thus serving the need of reducing the over dependence on incumbents for Service operators. Aricent SCE enables Next Generation OEMs and Application platform vendors to acquire the SCE technology for their Core Network and application platforms to further help their customers deliver innovative applications and services to end users. Aricent SCE product can also be integrated with Incumbent OEMs legacy as well as new next generation Platforms.

In summary the Aricent SCE enables additional/ higher revenue generation (Aricent being on the Revenue side of the customer) for our OEM customers at reduced initial and operating costs with faster time to market for new applications and services in addition to faster turn-around for customer specific customization needs.
