Hughes
Software Systems emerged a winner and was ranked among the top
10 companies to work for in India.
A
study of the "Best Companies to Work For in India"
was launched by Business Today - Mercer Human Resource Consulting
- TNS. The survey partners, BT-Mercer-TNS, endeavored to bring
to light through this survey, the companies in India which
are the best companies to work for and highlight aspects of
their culture, HR processes and work practices which make
them stand out. It focused on seeking inputs on four areas,
including employee perception, HR processes and policies,
HR metrics and stakeholder perceptions.
The survey was conducted on-line through interactions with
various stakeholders of the company based on predefined criteria.
In the first phase, employee feedback was sought on some critical
aspects of organizational success such as communication, culture,
alignment between organizational objectives and individual
aspirations. In the second phase, a comprehensive HR audit
instrument was administered to assess if HR was successfully
playing its role as a strategic partner, as a change agent,
as an employee champion as well as an administrative expert.
A dipstick study from various stakeholders (new recruits,
former employees, campuses, industry fora and search firms)
also provided an understanding of how well a company was perceived
by its environment, as a great place to work in.
This study cut across companies from 14 sectors across the
country with highest representation from the Information Technology
sector. Hughes Software Systems (HSS) emerged a winner and
was ranked among the top 10 companies to work for in India.
Strong market performance, sustained financial growth over
the last few years and excellent people management practices
are significant contributors in helping HSS achieve this position.
