When and why did Aricent
get into products?
Aricent made an early entry into the
protocol stacks business in 1997 with the launch of its V5.2
access stack. Protocol
stacks are the building block software for communication
networks. Having gathered rich domain expertise in fixed,
wireless and IP networks through its software services to
its customers, and with the world communications market moving
towards open standards software, Aricent found an early entry
into the communications software products market.

sell?
Today, Aricent is a leading global supplier of
convergent technologies for mobile, fixed and IP networks.
We have a broad range of communications- related products,
solutions and services to address the needs of the Next Generation
of communication networks. Our focus is on Convergence and
we have developed software products and sub-systems like softswitch,
media
gateway frameworks for voice
over packet networks. For high speed mobile data networks,
we have a portfolio that includes base station software, protocol
stacks and service nodes to enable traditional networks to
rapidly upgrade to the 2.5G/3G space.
