When did Aricent
start operations? Why was it set up?
Aricent began its operations in 1991
in New Delhi as a dedicated development facility for parent
Hughes Network Systems (HNS) to develop software solutions
for specific requirements of HNS projects in the areas of
VSAT-based networks for voice and data, cellular wireless
telephony, packet switching and multi-protocol routing. Read

Aricent has been ISO certified since
1996. In 2000, Aricent aimed for and received the prestigious
SEI-CMM Level 4 recognition from KPMG. We believe these quality
levels enable us to deliver customer delight while maintaining
the flexibility of working with the customers' quality systems.

As of June 30, 2001, Aricent has over
1600 professionals employed at its two development centers
in India- Gurgaon and Bangalore and leading its sales and
marketing efforts through its offices in the US, the UK, Germany
