Link Aggregation Features

  • Provides Link Aggregation capability, as specified in IEEE 802.3ad
  • Implements The Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) for automatic communication of aggregation capability between systems and automatic configuration of link aggregation
  • Supports selection of links as "Standby" links, which is able to take part in aggregation upon failure of one of the active links in aggregation
  • Supports Distribution Algorithm per Aggregator that selects a link for frame distribution
  • Supports manual aggregation of links, which will enable the aggregation of multiple ports without the LACP
  • Provides MIB support - Annexe 30C of IEEE 802.3ad through SNMP and CLI configuration
  • Supports enabling/disabling Link Aggregation on specified ports
  • Can be integrated with various switch hardware
  • Provides flexible, easy-to-adapt interfaces with third party components
  • Available in integrated form with other Aricent L2 protocols, such as RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, and PNAC
  • Highly portable code, which uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries
