- Performs the basic IP address translation from local IP address to global IP address
- Supports Network Address Port Translation (NAPT) IP address overloading, which is used to share the same global IP address for various local hosts. This conserves the global IP address space to large extent.

- Establishes a translation from a pool of inside addresses to a pool of registered IP addresses and vice versa, using the Dynamic NAT and NAPT feature. This mapping remains until the corresponding application session closes.
