The Open Shortest Path First version 3 (OSPFv3) Routing software is a portable implementation of the OSPF, as specified in the RFCs 2328 and 2740. It runs directly over IPv6 and interfaces with the SNMP and CLI framework for configuration and control purposes. The OSPFv3 solution implements a link state routing algorithm and updates the common routing table maintained by the Aricent RTM6 solution, which is used by the IPv6 solution when forwarding packets. The OSPFv3 solution reduces the time-to-market for OEMs and VARs who wish to incorporate the IPv6 routing functionality in their products.
