The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) stack is a portable implementation
of the BGP Version-4-related RFCs. BGP4 exchanges network
reachability information with other BGP systems. This information
helps in constructing graphs of the Access Point so that routing
loops can be detected. Intelligent routing decisions can be
taken based on policies, such as Multi Exit Discriminator/Local
Preference. The software includes support for interaction
with IGP and classless inter-domain routing. BGP4 reduces
the time-to-market for OEMs and Value Added Resellers (VARs)
who wish to incorporate the BGP functionality into their routers.
