All the interfaces comply with latest 3G PP Release 99 specifications.
The physical connectivity is over ATM, SS7 and IP. To further
reduce time-to-market for its OEM customers, Aricent has tied
up with leading hardware vendors for providing its software
solution on their COTS. These include
reference hardware cards for ATM, SS7 and High Availability
computing platforms.
Aricent's 3G SGSN Software: Architecture
To support Scalability and High Availability, the Aricent's 3G
SGSN architecture provides full distribution of interfaces
across different processing nodes. The software solution is
designed to be portable across different Hardware Platforms
and Operating Systems. The 3G SGSN integrates industry-leading
interface stack solutions from Aricent, such as the GMM/SM, IuPS
(RANAP, B-SS7 and SIGTRAN), MAP/SS7, BSSAP+, IPoA and GTP-C/U
and GTP'.
The architecture also supports High Availability features
such as reconfiguration on card failure, software download
with zero downtime and overload control mechanisms.

Capacity: The software has no inherent limitations and will
be tested on reference hardware for up to 300,000 simultaneous
Attach contexts having 2 PDP Contexts each and generating
1 Gbps of data throughput.

stacks are being interoperated in labs and various deployments
