Iub, Iur and Uu Interfaces

Aricent has introduced integrated Iub, Iur and Uu interfaces, that go beyond the traditional protocol stack products by providing a highly scalable integrated solution. These solutions enables OEMs to build the following nodes faster:

  • RNC
  • Node B
  • UE

These solutions are extensible and portable and are ideal implementation on embedded platforms as well as host-based system- ranging from low-end to high-end systems.

Aricent provides following Iub, Iur and Uu Integrated Interfaces for the control plane:

  • Iub (RNC Side)
Iub interface interconnects the RNC to Node B. Aricent offers it is as an integration of NBAP over SAAL-UNI.

  • Iur
Iur interface provides interconnection between one RNC and another. The Iur interface is provided as an integration of RNSAP and SCCP implemented over either SIGTRAN or Broadband SS7.

  • Uu (RNC side)
Uu interface provides interconnection between RNC and User Terminal via the Node B. The Uu interface is offered as integration of RRC, RLC/MAC and Iub Framing Protocol.

All the component stacks of these interfaces are available individually also.

Aricent's UMTS Iur, Iub, and Uu Interfaces : Ports

  • Vx Works
  • Linux
  • Other ports such as Windows 2000 etc., can also be provided within 3-4 weeks

Architecture

Built in accordance with the latest 3GPP Release 99 specifications, the Iub, Iur and Uu interfaces ensures ease in interoperability with multi-vendor nodes. The solution is available on reference off-the-shelf hardware and can be further integrated on any other desired hardware. Aricent will provide Aricent is committed to extend support to 3GPP Release 4 and Release 5 as well.
