Aricent CAP Stack: Layer Management Features
The CAP stack provides a comprehensive set of APIs for stack
configuration, provisioning and monitoring etc. The APIs enables
run-time control of debugging through trace levels. These
layer management APIs can be easily integrated with the system
management entity of CAMEL node. Aricent provides a sample Layer
Management Entity that can be used as a reference for usage
of these APIs and for testing and evaluation purposes.
Comprehensive Technical Documentation
The Aricent CAP stack comes with the necessary technical documents
to enable ease of usage including User Manual and Porting
Guide, API Manuals and Protocol Implementation Conformance
Statements (PICS). Conformance test reports are also available.
Aricent CAP stack functionality
The Aricent CAP stack supports the following functionality :
- Provides Service Switching Functionality(for SSPs) and
Service Control Functionality (for SCPs) for GSM and GPRS
networks
- Renders support for control of GPRS sessions and PDP
contexts
- Enables user application to setup and terminate CAP sessions
- Provides well defined interface to invoke CAP operations
- Provides complete state machines based on 3GPP and ETSI
specs for interacting with other CAMEL network entities
- Provides ASN.1 Encoding and decoding of CAP messages
- Handling of protocol errors in CAP messages
