Customised Application for Mobile network Enhanced Logic
(CAMEL) is the standardized network feature in the core network,
enabling network operators to provide operator-specific services
even when subscriber is roaming outside the Home Public Land
Mobile Network (HPLMN). CAMEL Application Part (CAP) is based
on Intelligent Network (IN) capability sets with enhancements
specific to mobile domain. This unique feature enables the
implementation of the Virtual Home Environment (VHE) for a
mobile subscriber.
Aricent CAP Stack : Phase 3 Network Architecture

The CAMEL Application Part (CAP) Stack from Aricent
is a 'state of the art' implementation of the CAP protocol
compliant with latest 3GPP and ETSI specifications. Aricent CAP
stack can be readily deployed in GSM, GPRS as well as 3G networks.
It provides service control for voice & data services
and IP multimedia sessions.
The Aricent CAP stack is written in portable ANSI C and is hardware
and operating system independent. The stack can be ported
to any OS or hardware with a minimal effort. Aricent provides
reference implementations for the common operating systems
such as Solaris, Linux, Windows, VxWorks etc. The stack has
also been successfully demonstrated on a variety of hardware
processors and architectures.
Aricent CAP solution provides a powerful platform to OEMs, application
developers and System Integrators for development of value-added
services such as: -
- Mobile Prepaid for Voice and Data Network
- Charging and Billing solutions for Data Networks including
IN Call Detail Record (CDR) generation at SGSN
- Location Based Services
- Mobile Virtual Private Network (mVPN)
- Number Abbreviation and many more
Aricent CAP Stack Packages
- Complete CAP solutions are available jointly with several
Aricent hardware partners such as Adax, FORCE, Interphase, Motorola,
Performance Technology and many more
