Aricent provides RLC/MAC protocol for RNC side
as an integrated offering consisting of following components:
Radio Link Control (RLC)
RLC supports following modes of data transfer with the higher
layers:
- Upper Layer Interface for Data Transfer
- Unacknowledged Mode Data Transfer
- Acknowledged Mode Data Transfer
- Transparent Mode Data Transfer
Medium Access Control (MAC)
The MAC sub-layer provides a concept of logical channels
and provides the function of multiplexing and scheduling onto
transport channels. The physical layer provides a concept
of transport channels and provides data transfer services
to the MAC layer.
It consists of two separate components MAC-d and MAC-c/sh
MAC-d
The major functions of MAC-d include:

MAC-s/ch
