New Delhi: Piggy-backing on Motorola, Hughes
Software Solutions (HSS) has finally managed to mark its entry
into the service providers market segment as a part of its
business de-risking plans.
HSS has partnered with Motorola, which will deploy HSS billing
mediation and service activation system for Global System
for Mobile Telephony (GSM) network of Bharat Sanchar Nigam
Limited (BSNL) in the south zone.
Speaking with eFE, HSS managing director Arun
Kumar said, The company would get in excess of $1 million
revenue out of this project. He also said that there were
similar deals in pipeline that are expected to be closed in
near future.
BSNLs contract to Motorola included setting
up an end to end network covering billing solutions that would
now be provided by HSS.
The services solution that has been developed
by HSS, comprises the billing mediation system that collects,
processes and dispatches data records and a service provisioning
platform that performs almost real time service provisioning
on integrated networks.
According to Mr Kumar, the company developed
the solution some time back and is now leveraging it in the
services solution market. We are also ready with another software
solution designed and developed for electronic bill presentation
and payment system, he said.
HSS had announced in the last fiscal that the
company would be entering the telecom services solutions market
to de-risk its business in the wake of slowdown in telecommunication
sector. HSS so far was involved only in developing software
products or offering software services to the original
equipment manufacturers (OEM) in telecom sector.
