Hughes Software Systems, specialising in communications
software, has secured a $1.5-million contract from Thrane
& Thrane of Denmark to design and implement within nine
months a network solution.
The turn-key order is a mix
of pre-built telecom products and software services.
Thrane & Thrane provides
equipment for land-based, maritime and aeronautical communications
on the Inmarsat system. Hughes software is expected to enable
the Inmarsat network to communicate with other emerging mobile
broadband networks more efficiently.
In late afternoon Hughes
was quoting 3.5 percent higher at Rs. 234.65 on June 5 on
the Bombay Stock Exchange, whose main index was up 2.17 percent.
