Hughes Software Systems (HSS), a premier global provider of end-to-end communications software solutions has announced the availability of HSS Mediation System on Intel® Itanium® 2 processor based platform.
The HSS Mediation System comprises Billing Mediation System (BMS) which collects, processes and dispatches data records and the Service Provisioning Platform (SPP) which performs near real time Service Provisioning on integrated, hybrid networks.
The HSS Mediation System Ver 4.X has been successfully ported to HP-UX on Itanium 2 Processor based servers to attain outstanding performance from the EPIC architecture technology. Technical teams from Intel, India have been working closely with HSS' product development team to ensure optimum performance of the HSS Mediation System on the new platform. The availability of the HSS Mediation System on Itanium® 2 processor based servers, brings improved scalability, headroom for growth and unparalleled cost advantages.
The HSS Mediation System, which can handle Billing Mediation & Service Provisioning needs of Convergent Next-Generation Networks, is currently deployed with some of the leading Communication Service Providers in APAC, MEA and USA.
Commenting on the successful completion of the joint exercise, Mr. Manoranjan Mohapatra, Chief Operating Officer of Hughes Software Systems, said, " HSS is working with Intel on many fronts, and with the Itanium 2 processor-based carrier class computing platform's widespread commercial availability, our Mediation product support is another significant step in our cooperation. We feel that the use of Intel Itanium 2 processor based platform for the HSS Mediation system, will provide our customers with greater price-performance value than ever before".
"Technology is a key driver of growth for India's telecommunications industry in the current environment, where leading players in this space are turning to their IT infrastructure to enhance their business operations and customer service and gain an edge under very competitive conditions," said Shrikant Patil, Director-Solutions, Intel Technology (I) Pvt.
