Dismissing reports about its takeover by global companies, Hughes Software has said it could see "traction" in the market and was on a hiring spree with 60 per cent of the targeted 1,000 recruitments expected to take place in the first half of 2004-05 fiscal.
"We are seeing traction in the market. We are hiring at a terrific speed and in fact 60 per cent of our targeted 1,000 professionals recruitment would be during the first half of the 2004-05 fiscal," Manoranjan Mohapatra, vice-president and COO, Hughes Software, said.
HSS had earlier said it planned to hire 1,000 professionals during 2004-05. Mohapatra said most of the hiring would be in the software space. Terming the latest reports about bidders trying to acquire HSS as "pure speculation", he said for the company it was business as usual. "We will have more deployments of people in areas like broadband, next generation network, wireless and also in application areas. "
