McKinsey to ratify new business plan

Thursday, January 17, 2002

NEW DELHI

As part of a recast plan, Hughes Software Systems has hired McKinsey&Co to ratify its new business plan targeted at the telecom service provider (TSP) segment.

Company president and managing director, Arun Kumar, said: "We have put together a concrete business plan and hired McKinsey to ratify our plan on TSPs."

HSS, which has around 11 per cent share in software applications market for shot messaging services (SMS) in India, is also exploring opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region for this product.

The focus areas in the future will be software solutions for Internet protocol telephony, converged networks and applications for 3G networks.

Kumar added: "The TSP segment retains a strong outlook within the communications domain. We have made good progress in our strategy to expand presence in this segment. We expect our TSP offerings to generate incremental revenues and contribute towards improving our growth rate in the next financial year.
