HUGHES Software Systems on Thursday announced it had teamed
up with Motorola to provide advanced third-generation mobile
data protocol hardware and software platforms.
"These solutions would deliver wireles mobile data telecom
infrastructure for original equipment manufacturers building
gateway GPRS service nodes, serving GPRS support nodes and
home location registers," a company release said here.
HSS' software combined with Motorola Computer group's platform
allows OEMs to rapidly deploy next generation mobile data
solutions without the time or expense needed to develop complex
communications software systems in-house.
Through this hardware/software combination, coupled with
HSS' protocol, HSS now provides a complete development environment
for home location service node for UMTS networks on the Motorola
