NEW DELHI: Hughes Software Systems (HSS) has decided to exit
from its Internet advertising Application Service Provider
(ASP) business, `RightServe' with immediate effect.
Announcing this decision Mr Manoranjan Mohapatra, Executive
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of HSS said, ``Since
June 2001, we have been working on bringing in strategic partners
who could enhance the long-term potential of the RightServe
business. We engaged with a number of entities and tried several
options, but none has worked out and hence the decision to
exit.''
He said here HSS would work with the existing RightServe
customers for a smooth transition that would not affect of
their immediate online advertising plans.
"As we look into the future, we can now more clearly
focus our attention on the growth of our core business,"
Mr Mohapatra said.
RightServe was one of the activities undertaken by HSS Bangalore
centre, established to focus on solutions and Internet businesses.
With the recast of the diversification strategy, this centre
will now focus on HSS' core business by building services
and products for the service provider segment.
