and Audiocodes Successfully Complete the Full Interoperability Testing of HSS
Softswitch, SIP Server and Gatekeeper Network Infrastructure Frameworks NEW
DELHI, April 28, 2003 Hughes Software Systems Ltd. (HSS), specialists in
convergent network software, and AudioCodes, a leading provider of Voice
over Packet (VoP) media gateway technologies and systems, today announced
the successful interoperation of Next Generation Network Infrastructure Frameworks.
HSS and Audiocodes have successfully completed full interoperability testing
of HSS' Softswitch,
SIP Server and Gatekeeper
Network Infrastructure Frameworks with AudioCodes' Analog Media Gateways (MediaPack™)
and AudioCodes' Digital Media Gateways (Mediant™). Interoperability
of HSS' frameworks with the AudioCodes Analog and Digital Media Gateways enables
reduced resource investment and lower costs for customers, making it easier for
them to quickly integrate the systems and progress with customer opportunities
for adopting and implementing new IP based services. The HSS Network Infrastructure
Frameworks for Softswitch, SIP Server and Gatekeeper
interoperated with the AudioCodes Analog and Digital Media Gateway using MGCP,
MEGACO, SIP
and H.323. The interop was successfully
carried out remotely and at the HSS labs. HSS Network Infrastructure Frameworks
greatly reduce development costs of network infrastructure for equipment vendors
and offer the assurance of interoperability with other network elements from leading
equipment manufacturers. AudioCodes MediaPack™ and Mediant™ families
of Analog and Digital Media Gateways address the needs of Residential, Enterprise
and Central Office (CO) deployments, providing cost-optimized and right-sized

- The Softswitch Framework solution from Hughes Software Systems offers innovative
software architecture to target Class 4 and Class 5 replacement markets as well
as Wireless markets through a single build. This offering is targeted towards

provides Multiple Services Support for Voice, Video and Data for both Fixed and

- The Gatekeeper (GK) is a software application that provides call control services
in the H.323 Internet Telephony domain and manages related LAN/WAN traffic. The

to provide a complete Voice over Packet solution.
