HSS to enable Carrier Grade Solutions for VoIP and 3G Networks on Intel® Processor-based Platforms

New Delhi, October 05, 2004: Hughes Software Systems (HSS), an end-to-end software products and services provider for the telecom industry plans to provide a complete Carrier Grade solution in VoIP and 3G domains to enable its equipment vendor customers build the complete network nodes.

HSS will work towards optimizing the HSS SIP Server and SS7 SIGTRAN Integrated Solution over Intel® Architecture based Rack Mount Server (RMS) and AdvancedTCA system, in addition to Intel® Network Processor based AdvanctedTCA* platforms.

The outsourcing services from HSS will be provided to enable telecom equipment manufacturers to leverage HSS' Telecom domain expertise in building applications on Intel® processor based RMS and AdvancedTCA platforms, OEMs building Carrier Grade and Enterprise Solutions in 2.5G/3G Wireless Nodes (RNC, Mobile softswitches, HLR etc), Convergence domains (SIP Servers, CSCF, SIP based Application Servers, SS7 and SIGTRAN based applications, etc.) and Broadband/IP will be the target for this offering.

Next generation telecom infrastructure will need to be scalable, flexible and high-performance at the same time. Modular communications platforms, in this case, Intel® Architecture based rack mount server and AdvancedTCA solutions, provide the technology to achieve significant feature enrichment without compromising on performance or flexibility. HSS' investment in providing off the shelf solutions i.e. products and services capability on these technologies makes it the vendor of choice for Network Equipment Providers (NEP) and Application Developers seeking assistance from their third party vendors for all or part of their product development needs.
