HSS to Provide Cost-Effective Solutions for 3G Equipment Vendors Based on the Intel® IXP23XX Product Line of Network Processors
New Delhi, October 26, 2004: Hughes Software Systems (HSS), an end-to-end software products and services provider for the telecom industry, today announced that it will deliver comprehensive solutions for 3G networks based on the Intel® IXP23XX product line of network processors. An Associate Member with the Intel® Communication Alliance, a community of communications and embedded developers and solution providers, HSS has considerable experience in developing, maintaining and testing software for Intel® network processor-based equipment.
By 1H 2005, HSS will make available its 3G Iub interface pre-integrated with the Intel ATM RAN application kit on the Intel® IXP2325 and Intel® IXP23250 network processors. With the 3GPP specifications for the NodeB and RNC interface (i.e. the IuB), already available, this software will provide NodeB vendors with a ready solution to help them meet the aggressive time pressures of the 3G equipment market segment. The HSS building blocks, along with the Intel network processors, will provide the processing performance to support value-added network services at line rate.
Apart from its pre-integrated software offerings, HSS also provides professional services to OEMs in building carrier-grade network processor-based network equipment. HSS now offers its services to wireless equipment manufacturers for developing new products with the Intel® IXP23XX product line as well as with existing Intel network processor product lines.
