Hughes Software Systems' presents a seminar on the VoIP and 3G Industry

Showcases the future at a strategic seminar on Successful deployment of Future Networks

May 24, 2004, Tokyo: - In keeping with its leadership in the VoIP and 3G solutions domain, Hughes Software Systems (HSS) has organized an exclusive HSS seminar on "Strategies for Successful deployment of Next generation VoIP & 3G Networks" at the Hotel New Otani, Tokyo, on May 26, 2004.

The highlight of the seminar will be a detailed session by Mr Kenshi Tazaki, Vice President in Gartner Research. He will share his views on the "Trends in VoIP and 3G".

VoIP and 3G are the two most dominant trends in the telecom industry. 3G networks today provide the platform for enhanced services like Push to Talk, Video Chat and conference, video streaming, gaming and much more. Broadband IP networks, on the other hand, can deliver a higher bandwidth and enhanced services that bring the capability of triple play. These networks are enabling Service Providers to offer Voice, Video and Text through the same access, thereby opening up competition and opportunities for both existing and new service providers. These two networks, thus, along with 2G/2.5G networks will co-exist in the telecom space. An end-user will seek seamless roaming between these networks without change or disruption in the services he accesses. To respond to these needs, mobile vendors are introducing newer devices compatible with multiple networks.

Gartner comments, "By developing value-added services on the network, communications carriers and vendors can make a good profit, even at a time when revenue from telephone use is declining. But access must be made easier"

Discussing these trends and their implications on the Japanese market, the seminar will also focus on VoIP and 3G deployment scenarios, and the strategies to be adopted by Telecom Equipment Vendors and Service Providers.
