Flextronics Software Systems to set up its
first software design and development centre in Beijing, China
- Leveraging the combined services of Flextronics'
hardware design, manufacturing and logistics arms to offer
end-to- end communication solutions
Beijing (China), 20 September, 2005- Flextronics Software
Systems (FSS), formerly Hughes Software Systems, a global
end-to-end communication solutions provider, today announced
the inauguration of its first software development centre
in Beijing, China. Acquired by Flextronics International in
2004, FSS will use this software design and development centre
to cater to the next generation communication software needs
of the burgeoning Asian and global markets.
The new development centre in Beijing will provide a full
spectrum of outsourcing services including software development,
integration and maintenance services to telecom Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEM), service providers and system integrators
globally. The development centre will also work closely with
Flextronics' global design and China manufacturing facilities
to offer vertically integrated solutions to its customers.
Speaking at the inauguration of the software development
center, Mr. Arun Kumar, President and Managing Director, Flextronics
Software Systems said, "FSS is a global telecom software
specialist and we are focused on expanding our footprint worldwide.
This new establishment is a step forward in this direction".
He added, "According to analysts, sixty percent
of telecom spending over the next decade is going to take
place in the Asia region. We want to be one of the early movers
to tap this growing opportunity."
Mr. Arun Kumar further said, "The opening
of this centre is in sync with our global delivery strategy
encompassing a three-tiered approach of on-site, off-shore
and near-shore operations, to enable us to offer the best-in-class
services to our customers. As our first near-shore centre
in China, this facility will give us the much needed proximity
to our customers in the dynamic Asian region".
Globally, FSS has two other near-shore software development
facilities located in the U.S. and Germany.
