Flextronics Software Systems Launches SIP
Network Server

Boston, 19 September 2005- Flextronics Software Systems (formerly
Hughes Software Systems), a global end-to-end communication
solutions provider today announced the launch of its next-generation
SIP Network Server (NS). FSS’ SIP Network Server is
a high-performance and highly scalable core infrastructure
server that enables TSPs to roll out innovative and best of
breed revenue generating services. The product will be showcased
at the world’s biggest IP event, VON Fall 2005
in Boston from September 19-22, 2005.
SIP is rapidly gaining popularity with service providers
focused on offering their customers innovative, new IP-based
services. FSS’ SIP NS enables TSPs to roll out
vendor-independent solutions, and quickly deploy innovative
services such as prepaid, video, P2P and Centrex (hosted telephony).
Apart from enabling easy deployment of value-added services,
FSS’ SIP NS also acts as a core infrastructure router
by providing transaction-stateful proxy, registrar and location
server functionality. It can be used as a high performance
access VoIP Server which TSPs can deploy as an adjunct to
a softswitch to handle subscriber traffic thereby reducing
softswitch capacity requirements and the total switching infrastructure
cost.
