Hughes Software Systems demonstrates home messaging service using the Fixed Mobile Convergence concept at F -64, Hall No 2 at 3GSM World Congress.

Cannes, 14th February 2005 - Hughes Software Systems (HSS), recently acquired by Flextronics and pending legal name change to Flextronics Software Systems, is demonstrating its Home Messaging Service concept using Fixed Mobile Convergence at the 3GSM World Congress, February 14-17, 2005, in booth F-64, Hall Number 2. The same application is also being shown as a Visitor Messaging Service for the security desk in offices.

Demonstrated here is a revolutionary and unique technology of Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC), that blends the benefits of both fixed and mobile networks. It gives the user a ubiquitous network, single identification, a common set of services, common billing, etc., all regardless of the location of the user, or whether he is connected to a fixed or mobile network.

To illustrate, if you are away shopping and you get a visitor at your home, an FMC device will greet your visitor, give him your recorded message, at the same time sending his picture and message to you. You, in turn, may send an answer back to your visitor - all this happens in a matter of seconds. This is just one of the situations where FMC comes to aid. At the Booth you will be taken through some other day-to-day situations, where FMC proves valuable.

This revolutionary demo will truly demonstrate what true convergence holds for all of us in the coming future.

Hughes Software Systems (HSS) has already been investing in creating technologies, which enable the development of both intermediate and eventual solutions. Today, HSS joins hands with customers to deliver IMS Client, Call State Control Function elements and OSA compliant SIP AppServers, which can handle both fixed and mobile subscribers.
