Flextronics Software Systems introduces IMS Client Framework for OMAP™ Processors from Texas Instruments
- FSS Showcases Innovative IMS Applications for Gaming, Multimedia and Voice
Taipei, 7 June 2006 - Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a leading provider of signaling solutions, today announced the availability of FSS’ innovative IMS Client Framework solution over OMAP™ processors from Texas Instruments (TI) by showcasing IMS client applications for gaming, multimedia and voice. FSS’ IMS Client Framework is a value-added solution for 3G mobile phones and handheld devices. The Framework acts as a platform for client devices and provides comprehensive IMS functionality to multiple applications simultaneously because of its unique horizontal architecture. Its intuitive APIs enable rapid and easy introduction of applications like “push- to-talk”, video messaging in next generation IMS networks.
"The IMS Client Framework, combined with the TI’s OMAP family of application processors, will enable device manufacturers to build IMS - ready devices in record time, leading to increased revenue generation" said Ajay Gupta, Assistant Vice President & Head of Services, FSS.
“TI’s OMAP processors are the preferred solution for 3G devices in the marketplace today. Equipped with the IMS Client Framework from FSS, they now become the processors of choice for building IMS applications,” said Markus Tremmel, Worldwide Manager of TI’s Cellular Systems Ecosystem.
FSS’ IMS Client Framework has been extensively tested for interoperability with core IMS infrastructure solutions from leading vendors worldwide, and it is fully compliant with the latest 3GPP/3GPP2 standards. Application developers and device manufacturers will be able to reduce time- to- market dramatically when delivering solutions based on the IMS Client Framework.
