Flextronics Software Systems appoints Manoranjan Mohapatra as its President Gurgaon, India, 22 August 2006 - Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider today announced the appointment of Manoranjan Mohapatra as its President and Chief Operating Officer. An FSS veteran, with over 14 years in the company, Manoranjan Mohapatra has been a core member of the FSS leadership team since the company’s inception and has played a pivotal role in driving FSS’ business growth. Prior to this, Mr. Mohapatra was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FSS and has been assigned this new role, following the sudden demise of Mr. Arun Kumar, the erstwhile President and Managing Director in July, 2006.

Speaking on the appointment, Mr. Ash Bhardwaj, Chief Executive Officer, Flextronics Software Systems, said, "I am delighted to announce the promotion of Manoranjan Mohapatra (Mao) as the President of our company. Mao was the obvious choice to lead the company, as he has been instrumental in helping FSS achieve its current stature of being a global leader in communications software. Manoranjan Mohapatra has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry with an established track record in creating and evolving new business models and strategies. He was part of the FSS start up-team and joined the company in 1992 when it was incorporated as Hughes Software Systems. He has played a central role in transforming FSS from being a dedicated software center into a strong global communications software provider with over 300 customers.

As the Chief Operating Officer at FSS, Mr. Mohapatra has spearheaded the business development function for the company and overseen the business performance of multiple SBU's including marketing, product management and sales. In the past two years, he has been a key player in the successful integration of Flextronics' global and domestic software entities.

Prior to joining FSS, Mr. Mohapatra worked with C-DOT, where he was part of the team, which developed the first 'Made in India' switch, which heralded the start of telecom software development in India.
