Hughes Software Systems (HSS), Specialists in Convergent Network software and India's leading communications software company, has used the CTIA Wireless IT and Internet 2001 show in San Diego to showcase an array of innovative software solutions that drastically reduce the deployment of next generation wireless networks. HSS product portfolio, displayed at Booth 1706, Hall F, includes standards-compliant Mobile Application Part (MAP) protocol software for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) networks and next-generation software solutions targeted toward OEMs building networks of the future.

HSS is among the first telecom software providers to integrate its products to make a fully 3G compliant Home Location Register (HLR) for the yet-to-be commercially deployed WCDMA networks. The company is also displaying the HSS GSN-Lite, a powerful and cost-effective software solution for SGSNs, engineered to facilitate easy deployment in corporate and community General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) networks. The system's unique features include the capacity for video streaming at the speed of 80 KBPS.

Also on display will be standards-compliant protocol software that enables speedy deployment of GPRS and UMTS networks that are phasing out the existing ones. It includes RANAP (Radio Access Network Application Part), GTP (GPRS tunneling protocol), B- SS7 (Broadband SS7) and other products.
