exits from RightServe
New Delhi, India - November 7, 2001
Hughes Software Systems Limited, (HSS) announced today that
it has decided to exit from its Internet advertising Application
Service Provider (ASP) business - RightServe, with immediate
effect.
Manoranjan Mohapatra, Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer of HSS, said, "Since June 2001, we
have been working on bringing in strategic partners who could
enhance the long-term potential of the RightServe business.
We engaged with a number of entities and tried several options,
but none has worked out and hence the decision to exit."
"We will work with our existing RightServe customers
for a smooth transition that would not affect any of their
immediate online advertising plans," he added. "As
we look into the future, we can now more clearly focus our
attention on the growth of our core business where we are
among the leaders globally.''
RightServe was one of the activities undertaken by HSS' Bangalore
center, which was set up to focus on e-solutions and internet
businesses. With the recast of its diversification strategy,
the Bangalore center is playing a key role in expanding HSS'
core business by starting to build services and products for
the Service Provider segment (Communication Applications and
OSS solutions).
