A growth of 69% in Sales over the corresponding quarter last year has been noted. The Record Total Income is Rs. 988 Million and the Profit After Tax is Rs. 239 Million, a growth of 110% over corresponding quarter last year.   • GM Announces Plan to Split-off Hughes Electronics. News Corp. to acquire 34% of Hughes for $14 per share GM to sell its 19.9% interest for $3.8 billion
    April 9, 2003, New York - General Motors Corp. and its subsidiary Hughes Electronics Corp. (NYSE: GM, GMH) today announced that GM intends to split off Hughes, and simultaneously sell GM's 19.9 percent economic interest in Hughes to News Corp. (NYSE: NWS, NWS.A) for $14 per share, or approximately $3.8 billion. GM would receive about $3.1 billion in cash, and the remainder would be paid in News Corp. preferred American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).
