    • KKR to acquire Flextronics’ Software Development and Solutions Business
      Menlo Park and Palo Alto, California, 16 April 2006 – Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”) today announced that an affiliate of KKR has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the software development and solutions business (“the software business”) of Flextronics International Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLEX) in a transaction valued at approximately $900 million. Flextronics will retain a 15% equity stake in the software business and continue as an important business partner and customer.

      Taipei, 7 June 2006 – Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a leading provider of signaling solutions, today announced the availability of FSS’ innovative IMS Client Framework solution over OMAP™ processors from Texas Instruments (TI) by showcasing IMS client applications for gaming, multimedia and voice. FSS’ IMS Client Framework is a value-added solution for 3G mobile phones and handheld devices. The Framework acts as a platform for client devices and provides comprehensive IMS functionality to multiple applications simultaneously because of its unique horizontal architecture. Its intuitive APIs enable rapid and easy introduction of applications like “push- to-talk”, video messaging in next generation IMS networks.

    • Flextronics Software Systems Unveils Next Generation WiMax Signaling Solution
      Gurgaon, India, 25 May 2006 - Flextronics Software Systems (formerly Hughes Software Systems), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider today launched SigASN, a signaling framework for developing the WiMax Forum defined ASN Gateway. FSS' SigASN, a platform-independent software-signaling framework, enables Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) to quickly develop ASN Gateway, a key component for enabling mobility in WiMax networks. FSS SigASN, based on 802.16e specifications, provides a modular control plane implementation and open interfaces for user plane (Fast Path) integration.

    • Flextronics Software Systems unveils Industry's First Layer-2 Ethernet switching software with high availability capability
      Gurgaon, India, 20 March 2006 - Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider launched the industry's first Layer-2 Ethernet switching software suite with High-Availability redundancy capability. A significant improvement over other Layer-2 Ethernet switching software, the FSS product enables service providers to offer 'Five'9' availability for their switches. The product includes multiple next generation capabilities to ensure that it is more feature rich and offers enhanced scalability in addition to the redundancy. A few customers are already using the feature.

    • Flextronics Software Systems appoints Manoranjan Mohapatra as its President
      Gurgaon, India, 22 August 2006 – Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider today announced the appointment of Manoranjan Mohapatra as its President and Chief Operating Officer. An FSS veteran, with over 14 years in the company, Manoranjan Mohapatra has been a core member of the FSS leadership team since the company’s inception and has played a pivotal role in driving FSS’ business growth. Prior to this, Mr. Mohapatra was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FSS and has been assigned this new role, following the sudden demise of Mr. Arun Kumar, the erstwhile President and Managing Director in July, 2006.

      New Delhi, 8 July 2006 – It is with deep regret that Flextronics Software Systems (FSS) announces the demise of its President and Managing Director, Mr. Arun Kumar. Mr. Kumar died of a cardiac arrest in San Diego, California, USA, on July 7, 2006. He is survived by his wife Amita, and his son Kunal.
