HUGHES SOFTWARE SYSTEMS SIGNALLING
ADAPTATION PRODUCT IS VALIDATED IN INTERNATIONAL TESTING EVENT
The forum proves the latest HSS product is a versatile
building block for the next-generation networks
Germantown, MD - December 5, 2001
Hughes Software Systems (HSS), specialists in convergent networks
and India's leading communications software company, announced today
that the first international Interoperability Test Event showed
full compatibility of HSS' carrier-class, feature-rich Signaling
Connection Control Part User Adaptation (SUA) protocol stack with
the SUA products of other leading vendors.
The 1st SUA Interoperability Test Event, held November 5-9 in
Herentals, Belgium, provides independent third-party validation
that HSS products are designed as versatile building blocks for
next-generation networks, and allow Original Equipment Manufacturers
(OEMs) to significantly cut new product deployment time, costs
and risks.
"Interoperability is the primary concern of HSS customers,
and our goal is to deliver the products that work in concert with
third-party vendor implementations," said Ajay Gupta, HSS'
Assistant Vice President for Next Generation Networks. "We
believe that industry-recognized Interoperability Test Events
are the best venue to ensure the interoperability across vendors.
By actively participating in these forums, we are able to ensure
for our customers that their products will conform to the stringent
requirements necessary to achieve seamless network interoperability
on actual deployment."
HSS has established itself as a key supplier of the Signaling
Transport (SIGTRAN) components based on the Internet Engineering
Task Force (IETF) standards and was the first to commercialize
Sigtran protocols based on their draft versions last year. All
the SIGTRAN stacks offered by HSS are built to conform to the
HSS Advanced Architecture for Protocol Engineeringä (AAPE)
standard. This architecture is specially suited for components
that are placed in the real-life, high-performance, carrier-class
environment.
SIGTRAN (Signaling Transport) defines a suite of protocols and
adaptation layers for transporting signaling information over
IP based networks.
