Hughes Software Systems teams with
Sun Microsystems, inc. Providing
MIDDLEWARE on ChorusOST Operating Systems

Hughes Software Systems (HSS), India's #1 communications software
company, today announced that HSS and Sun Microsystems, Inc.
are working together to integrate HSS' mobile data protocol
software solutions and communication protocol stacks with
Sun's high availability ChorusOST operating system.
HSS intends to port SS7, GPRS and UMTS communication protocols
to create a value added, "application ready" platform for
customers. HSS' communications protocols will complement the
Sun ChorusOST in building ready-to -use telco/networking applications.
This would provide developers a complete development package
all the way up to the customers' specific API. Adherence to
new telephony standards helps assure ease of integration.
Development time, already minimized with HSS' application
specific kernel, will be further reduced by this application
ready platform.
