Hughes Software Systems teams with
Sun Microsystems, Inc. and AudioCodes to enable convergence

Hughes Software Systems (HSS), India's #1 communications software

today announced a relationship with Sun Microsystems, Inc.
and AudioCodes (NADSAQ: AUDC), the world's leading Voice over
Packet (VoP) board manufacturer, to integrate HSS' VoP protocols
with Audiocodes VoP Boards to work on the SUNä CP 1500 chassisä.
This would provide developers a complete development package
all the way up to the customers' specific applications. HSS,
AudioCodes, and Sun have already successfully tested the interoperability
of the Hughes Softswitch product with the AudioCodes MP-100
Analog Media Gateway family and will continue to test the
entire suite of HSS VoP stacks for compatibility.
The HSS Softswitch, which can be deployed in a Class 4, Class
5 or even a wireless network and has APIs for easy integration
with services, is now in a single configuration, able to inter-operate
with Audiocodes MEGACO and MGCP based gateways.
Development time, already minimized with HSS' application
ready Softswitch software, will be further reduced by this
application ready platform. Adherence to new telephony standards
helps assure ease of integration.
