What is Diameter?
Diameter is a signaling protocol based on the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the 3GPP standards to perform AAA functions in IMS networks.

What are application extensions?
An application extension is an additional specification added by the 3GPP over and above the base Diameter protocol to allow its usage in multiple application domains.

Is it possible to run the Diameter Stack on multiple servers to ensure high capacity?
The Aricent Diameter Stack has been built upon a distributed architecture, which allows its usage across single as well as multiple servers.

Would there be more Diameter releases to take care of specifications upgrade in future?
Aricent has a strong roadmap for Diameter inline with its corporate strategy of being a leader the IMS domain. Aricent plans to bring one major and one minor release every year adding new functionalities and upgrading compliance to the latest specifications.
