Baseline Report

Being a SEI CMMI Level 5 assessed organization, the focus of project monitoring at Aricent has been quantitative in addition to being qualitative. Decisions are normally based on data from the project's performance. In the beginning of year, we set quality objectives at organization level. Project plan also captures the quality targets based on organization and customer objectives.

The definition, source, periodicity, formulae, and samples of more than 35 metrics are available as part of a Metrics Handbook. Out of these, 5 have been identified as core metrics and these are tracked for all the projects at the organization level. These include:

  • Schedule Variance
  • Effort Variance
  • Defect Density
  • SLA Compliance
  • Customer Satisfaction Index

Quality Group at Aricent collects these metrics from projects on a monthly basis and generates baseline reports, which captures the capability of the organization with respect to these metrics quantitatively. Baseline reports help the projects during estimations as well as during the tracking of the project.
