This is well known statistical technique, which draws upon
the experience of different people, who have executed similar
projects or activities in the past. This has been automated
using an in-house developed tool.
Periodically, Aricent publishes past project data
internally in the form of baseline report. Apart from data
on different metrics, this report also contains data on productivity,
effort distribution, defect distribution, etc. This information
is further categorized under different category of the projects.
This helps the PM in better estimation.
