Aricent has a well-defined mature testing cycle.
Aricent acts as a consultant, test engineer, systems integrator
and turnkey testing solution provider in the area of telecom
software testing domain.
Requirements Analysis and Project
Planning
At this stage the scope of work is defined based on the statement
of requirements supplied by the customer. Time lines for the
work are estimated and the project plan and test schedules
are created with detailed work breakdown structure and identification
of dependencies. Persons with the requisite skills and additional
training needs are also identified at this stage.
Test Strategy & Re-Estimation
In this stage a detailed study is done of the requirements
and specifications. A complete testing strategy is planned
based on the customer inputs and the scope of testing. Different
test environments for testing are identified and accordingly
resources and manpower requirements are re-estimated and modified.
Test Requirements and Test Case Designing
Once the test requirement document is prepared and reviewed,
a detailed test plan is drawn up tracing the requirements
and the test configurations to be used during the testing
phase along with the detailed test case objectives, test steps
and pre and post test conditions.
Test Tool Enhancement and Automation
Test Automation is required in a rapid development environment
since manual testing can no longer keep pace with the evolving
technology. The aim is to achieve a high level of automation
and minimize manual intervention. Automation scripts can be
customized as per the requirements of the specific test plans
while maintaining the same test set-up.
Automation also facilitates the ease with which test parameters
and configuration settings can be changed. Test reports, logs
and verdict analysis are generated automatically.
Test Execution, Reporting and Logging
In this phase, the execution of test cases is either done
manually or in the automated mode depending on the test configuration.
The scope of the testing done by Aricent can be broadly classified
as below:
- InstallationTests
- System Management and Porting Tests
- Conformance Tests
- Regression Tests
- Load and Performance Tests
Test Reporting
As an output of the testing activity, several types of reports
are generated for the consumption of different sets of people.
These reports are mainly used for finding out the status of
any testing activity, quality of the software under test,
problems being observed or the analysis of the test observations.
Reports submitted by Aricent consist of:
- Executive summary report
- Progress Report
- Detailed Test Report
- Monthly Quality Metrices
